Summer Art

Over the past week, I've shared with many students ideas about ways to keep art alive over the summer months. Although traveling means that you might not have many art supplies with you, it also provides a lot of inspiration and lots of free time to make art.

Travel Sketch Book
Every time my kids and I go on a trip we each make a special travel book.  We decorate the cover, draw a map of where we're going and sometimes write or draw what we me might see on our adventure. Here are some examples of things we do in the book, during long flights, train rides, or just lazy days at the beach:

-We have a page to draw all of the animals that we see... Our Sri Lanka book had a great mix of interesting animals!

-We observe things we find interesting and draw all of the details we see. The kids choose what their interested in!

-We play the line shape game.
