Grade 3 Urban Communities

During the Grade 3's Unit on Urban communities, all of the grade 3 classes came for an extra visit to the art room to learn about drawing cityscapes. They are doing swimming this quarter, so it was a treat to see them.

We looked at shapes in many of the popular buildings that are in Dubai today. We also looked at how they could use organic and geometric shapes to design new buildings that might be built in the future.  I challenged the Grade 3 students to draw Dubai in 5 years. Students then went back to their classes to finish their project with their classroom teachers. It was very exciting to see these grade 3 students this week coming into the art room with magnificent cityscapes!
