First, Grade one students mixed tints of their favourite colours for a background.
The next step was very exciting... splatter painting :) The students liked how the splattered lines and shapes were so different from the blended tints.
They then took recycled items and dipped them into black paint. Students considered movement and composition as they decided where on the paper to make prints. I felt like I was walking through a gallery after class!
Take a look in the Grade One hall or outside of the elementary office for a display.
